How to remove a watermark from a PDF

1. 1Open Remove watermark and choose your PDF.
2. 2Look through the items it found. Each has a preview: a “DRAFT” stamp, a logo in the corner, a diagonal “CONFIDENTIAL”.
3. 3Tick the ones to remove and press Remove.
4. 4Check the preview, then download the cleaned PDF.

Painting a white box over a watermark hides it on screen, but the watermark is still in the file: it can show through on coloured backgrounds, reappear when someone moves the box, and still be found by search. Removing the watermark object leaves the page exactly as it was underneath.

• Scanned documents: the watermark is part of the page image, so it can't be separated from the text. For photos and single images, Remove watermark from image fills small marks from their surroundings.
• Watermarks drawn as part of each page's design, rather than repeated identically, may not be detected. You can delete individual objects in the PDF editor.
• Password-protected files need unlocking first, with the password.
